👁️ Dr. EYE

A small experiment in blending art and electronics.

About the Project

Dr. EYE started as a simple idea—an experiment that grew into something more over time. I’ve always been interested in the space where creativity and technology meet, and this project is a reflection of that curiosity.

It wasn’t planned out in detail. It didn’t start with a clear end goal. I just wanted to try building something strange and interesting—a device that looked like an eye and could show something alive on its screen.

From early prototypes with the ESP8266 to the current version with the ESP32, Dr. EYE has gone through a lot of small changes. Each step has been about learning, adjusting, and trying again. It’s still evolving, and that’s part of what makes it enjoyable to work on.

The Visual & Artistic Side

Dr. EYE wasn’t built just to be functional. The eye shape, the display, and the lens were all chosen with visual expression in mind.

The screen can show dynamic, animated visuals—anything from abstract shapes to realistic eye movements. That makes it useful for creative projects: interactive art pieces, visual experiments, or even just unusual gadgets.

The idea of the “eye” brings in symbolic meaning too—perception, observation, attention. Whether or not that’s something you care about, it adds a layer that makes the project more than just a screen with code running behind it.

Who It’s For

Dr. EYE is for anyone interested in small-scale creative technology. It’s not a finished product in the traditional sense—more like a tool, or a sketchpad, or a strange little machine that might inspire you to try something new.

You don’t need to be an artist or a developer. If you’re just curious, that’s enough.

Availability

Each Dr. EYE unit is assembled individually. It’s a limited run, mostly because I build them myself in small batches.

What’s Included:

  • Fully assembled Dr. EYE
